Members Only

Welcome back to FWHR.  At this time last year, we revamped our Member Directory fields to better reflect changes in our services.  And to entice you to update your member profiles, we offered three $125 Visa gift cards to those members who displayed pictures of themselves.  Why?  As FWHR grows, we want to know who you are after we meet at an event, and pictures help with remembrance.  Now we’re doing it again!  Members, upload a headshot photo of yourself to your profile by March 16 and you’ll be automatically entered into a drawing to win one of three $125 Visa gift cards when you attend the March 19 luncheon.  You must be present to win but it’s that easy.  I need a button.  Click here to learn how to upload your photo.

Also, members, don’t forget to tell us how we’re doing.  Fill out the member feedback form by March 16 to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a free FWHR membership at the March 18 luncheon.  You need not be present to win.  Happy New Year and stuff.

"I enjoyed the meet and great event.  It was great to meet such nice people and just to share stories and get to know people.  I look forward to the next event!" - Suzette Gould (Baer Alliance)

January POP UP
Networking Party!

"I loved getting to meet with people without the time constraint of having to get back to the office, which is normal practice after Fort Worth HR.  So many people I had seen but not had an opportunity to actually get to know; the food definitely a plus." - Melba Fowler (MedStar Mobil Healthcare)

February 02/20/20 Legal Hour and Luncheon
Photos and Membership Feedback!

I am a new member with the Fort Worth HR association and today was my first event with the organization. What a great experience! Terri was very informative, knowledgeable, and real. Her presentation spoke to the problem and had practical insight as to avoid falling into the trap of retaliation.  Seth introduced me to a process I didn’t know my company needed. Great topics, great presenters, great location, great members! I look forward to the next luncheon!

A brief note from Beverly:

On April 6th my husband and I will join the class of 2020 in thru hiking the Appalachian Trail.   I will start at the Springer Mountain in Georgia and walk to Mount Katahdin in Marylynn  covering 2100 miles and crossing 14 states.  FWHR has been an amazing organization for me and I have developed wonderful true friendships.  I hope they will follow my journey on my Facebook or Instagram under Corporate Girl Gone Wild.   I hope to return to FWHR plus Financial and HR Additions in October.

February #FWHR Member Spotlight:
Beverly Parker

We got the chance to ask her a few questions:
How has the FWHR Chapter helped you in your career and what

would you suggest for both non-members and members who are new to the chapter?

I have been part of FWHR for over 12 years and it has been instrumental in both my professional and personal growth.  This group has ensured I stayed current on all legal issues and best practices.  I loved being part of the board and held two roles over 4 years with Director of Sponsorships and then finally Secretary.  I was able to serve under three amazing Presidents who mentored me with care.
The networking and friendships developed organically and I can’t image my life with out each and every one of them.  I was scared to plug in and volunteer at first because everyone seemed to already be connected but once I stepped out of my comfort zone I learned everyone is very warm and friendly.  The PEGs are an excellent place to network with a smaller group of like-minded professionals.  I hope every new member finds a PEG to join.
